Got Nutrients?

In todays world there is a ton of misinformation out there. One of the reasons I started my company RTR, Results thru Research was for just that reason. Every day a new claim comes out on a talk show or in the tabloids about the next wonder pill that will cure your woes.

Years ago renowned chemist and scientist Linus Pauling stated “No evidence compels the conclusion that the minimum required intake of any vitamin comes close to the optimum intake that sustains good health.”

This is the truth. We all have nutrient depletions in one form or another leading to imbalances in the bodies chemistry thus creating dis-ease. When we correct these imbalances and bring the body back into a state homeostasis. Our bodies were not born with a lack of anything. We were born perfect. I am posed the question all the time, if we eat a perfectly balanced menu why do we need to supplement? The answer is simple, we are not getting the same quality of nutrients from our foods as we did 50 years ago.

Our soils are depleted and sprayed with herbicides, pesticides and fungicides. Residues of jet fuel is frequently found on our fruits and vegetables. According to the FDA as many as 23 different chemical residues can be found on conventionally grown fruits and veggies. Now also taking into consideration the amount of GMOs (genetically modified organisms) we are exposed to makes our current food system pretty scary.

Our bodies were simple not designed to handle the toxic bombardment of chemicals that it is exposed to daily. Combine this with personal care products ranging from lotions, creams, deodorant’s and household cleaning products that off gas pollutants into out environment and you have a toxic soup.

I don’t want you to think that it’s all doom and gloom. The impressive thing about our bodies its ability to fight off these things, however it does need help.

First and foremost we here about “detoxing” all the time now, it seems to be the new catch word. Your body will detox simply by sweating, if you can get into a dry or inferred sauna all the better. The more water you drink the more you detox. The more cruciferous veggies you eat the more you detox. I would always recommend getting a nutrient depletion test done to see what nutrients you are depleted of. When doing this you are creating a blueprint of how to build your body. I test myself once a quarter depending on how hard I am training or much I am traveling.

All of these chemicals that we are exposed to do have an accumulative effect on our bodies which is why I say we need help staying in check.

For those of you that have a hard time eating right supplements are the right course of action for you. AlkaMind Greens is an excellent source to get you variety of veggies in without having to prepare.

If you would like a little more detailed green drink that can help detox you then one of my favorites is 1 peeled cucumber, 1 red grapefruit peeled and ½ bunch of cilantro in a blender. You can add sea salt or vanilla extract to flavor. This is an excellent drink to have 2 to 3 times per week to give the body a boost.

Milk Thistle is also an excellent go to supplement to help the liver do exactly what it was intended to do, cleanse the body. As I stated before we are bombarded daily with all sorts of chemicals so why wouldn’t you want to give the body a helping hand at getting rid of these toxins before they have a chance to cause havoc.

Be proactive not reactive and you can add years to your life and life to your years.
